The Philadelphia Art Alliance is the country's oldest multidisciplinary exhibition space. Founded in 1915, the Art Alliance features six visual-art exhibitions annually and offers special programs in the literary and performing arts at its historic landmark building on Rittenhouse Square in Center City. Group exhibitions of regionally and nationally recognized artists are featured in the main galleries on the second floor, and solo exhibitions are displayed in the first- and third- floor galleries as well as at the Satellite Gallery, located in the Rittenhouse Hotel, third floor, 210 Rittenhouse Square. -- Ellen Rosenholtz
