There's always something brewing at DCAC, in the heart of lively and multicultural Adams Morgan. With a 750-foot art gallery, and a 50-seat 'black box' theatre, this nonprofit organization supports emerging artists by presenting high- caliber, challenging works, encouraging professionalism and engaging in cultural exchange. You never know what's coming next - it might be an evening of independent films, writers for a hot magazine, or painters and sculptors sharing space with actors, directors and stage managers. The plays presented are often new works by up-and-coming artists. Parking can be difficult on weekend nights in Adams Morgan, and productions are often on weekdays. The Adams Morgan neighborhood itself is an attraction. -- Brad Marshall
